Why participate?
If you are interested in the European Union, debating about current European topics, making friends and learning skills which will benefit you the rest of your life, then you should encourage your school to join EYP The Netherlands. Any Dutch HAVO/VWO school interested in the international perspective can join EYP the Netherlands.
With its International Sessions, National Conferences, Fora, and many other events, EYP touches the lives of roughly 20,000 Europeans from 30 different countries every year. Every year debating competitions are organised. This year EYP The Netherlands was able to send five schools to all sorts of international sessions abroad.
The European Youth Parliament is a multinational non-profit organisation which aims to raise awareness on European issues and promote international understanding and European citizenship. In addition to that, it provides a platform for young people to develop their personal skills, and to express their opinions. The Dutch chapter of the European Youth Parliament actively works towards those aims in the Netherlands. Please also refer to the ‘Organisation‘ section for more information.
Costs
EYP The Netherlands is a non-profit organisation and we try to keep costs to a minimum. The participation fee for the Preliminary Rounds 2009/2010 is set at €20,- per participant. However, if you sign up before the 1st of September 2010, you receive a 25% discount. A regular delegation of six and an accompanying teacher therefore costs a school €105 (=7 x 15). For more information, contact treasurer Caspar jansen, via email (caspar.jansen@eyp.nl)
